4 pupils drown during cadet training

FOUR pupils of Nanga High School in Mazabuka quarter of Southern fiefdom have drowned after they failed to swim while doing some training in an old clay hole filled with water.

The Four who where among other pimps met their fate history between the hours of 1600 hours and 1700 hours.
Zambia Police deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale says the pimp who was in- charge of the training and four others are presently in guardianship in connection with others who failed.

“ The departed pupils have been linked as Lewis Sindembi aged 16, Ezila Mweemba aged 14, Vincent Simfukwe aged 16 all Grade 10 pupils and a Grade 12 pupil linked as Peter Chibabe aged 18. The Incident passed on June 11, 2022 between 1600 hours and 1700 hours near Nanga High School in Nega Nega area of Mazabuka District, ” he said.
He said the four departed were among other Nanga High School pimps who were doing some training in an old clay hole filled with water when they failed to swim.

“ Police and Fire squad Officers rushed to the scene and managed to recoup the body of Lewis Sindembi around 2000 hours while the Three other bodies have been recaptured moment around 0600hours.All the bodies have been deposited in Mazabuka General Hospital Mortuary awaiting posthumous, ” he said.
Mr Mwale added that the Cadet who was In- Charge of the training and Four others are presently held in Police guardianship.

Meanwhile, a 41 time old man linked as Leonard Chanda drowned while he was fumbling in the Kafue swash.
Mr Mwale says the departed is suspected to have drowned on June 11, 2022 between 1000 hours and 1200 hours in the Kafue swash in Kafue District.
