The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- has arrested a 73-year-old woman of Chilenje Township in Lusaka, alongside her 35-year-old nephew for trafficking in cannabis.

In an interview with ZNBC news, DEC Public Relations Officer Mathias Kamanga named the two as Melinda Nakazwe and Lameck Sikazwe.

Mr. Kamanga said the two were arrested at Intercity bus station after they went to receive a concealed parcel of cannabis from outside the country.

He has since warned all transporters to be careful with goods they are carrying.

Meanwhile, The DEC has also confiscated 1-hundred and 78 bottles of Benlyn from a Taxi driver, Nebby Manda of Libala township in Lusaka.

Mr. Kamanga explained that the Commission is investigating the matter to establish if the drug was gotten from a pharmacy.

He expressed concern that a lot of pharmacies are selling the commodity without any prescription.
