Situmbeko Silume, a 43-year-old suspect from Mtendere East, has been captured by police in Lusaka.

This relates to a case where a mob is accused of assaulting two land surveyors in the Mikango area.

On January 20, 2023, at about 12:45 in the afternoon, the incident took place in the Mikango region.

According to investigations, a mob attacked Colonel Charles Mulenga, a Zambian Army commander, and Hargai Mulenga, a surveyor, as they were working on land measuring in the Mikango area, according to police assistant public relations officer Godfrey Chilabi.

“In the process, the two surveyors were assaulted and had their surveying equipment grabbed. The suspect is detained in custody while a manhunt for the other accomplices has been instituted,” Mr Chilabi said.
