Opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Felix Mutati has expressed deep shock and sadness over the demise of Monze Catholic Diocese Bishop Moses Hamungole who passed away Wednesday 13th January 2021. Mr Mutati expressed sadness stating that the late Bishop was close to him and that the pain he feels was unexplainable.
Mutati stated that he had dinner with the late Bishop on 22nd December 2020 and spoke to him on January 10th, 2021 and wished the late Bishop who sounded promising and reassuring, well.
Mutati stated that during the conversation on phone, the late Bishop expressed gratitude to him and Justice Minister Hon Lubinda for fufiling their pledge towards the construction of the Cathedral and that construction was to commence soon and that a contractor has been appointed.
Mr Mutati described the late Bishop as a parent who readily rendered advise to all and accommodated all regardless of one’s political affiliation. “The country has lost a true son of the soil and a father to all, he welcomed everyone regardless of political affiliation and readily rendered advise to all.
Mutati has since sent his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Bishop, the Catholic Church and the Nation at large.
