Bodies Go Missing at Kalumbila Graveyard


Police in Solwezi have launched investigations in reported cases of bodies being exhumed in Munkozhi area of Kalumbila District. North Western Province Police Commissioner Joel Njase has disclosed that a preliminary investigation has revealed that five bodies have so far been exhumed.

He said that one of the five ransacked graves was found empty and police are pursuing the matter. Njase said that his office received a report of unknown people’s exhumed bodies at the less two-year-old graveyard in Senior Chief Mukumbi’s Chiefdom.

“It was reported that unknown persons have been exhuming bodies at the grave yard and this has been of concern to the community, our officers went in and this has been verified,” Njase said

He added that no arrest has been made but police have launched investigations to bring to book the culprits.

Njase has also appealed to the community to be on the look out and report any suspicious activities that would be linked to the inhuman act.
