Cassper Nyovest remains the only artist to have Filled up the Dome

Another COVID-19 fatality. The Ticket Pro Dome has announced that it is state venue for events announced on July 19 that it has not been able to operate due to the lockdown which started last year. With the restrictions placed when it comes to hosting large events, the Dome could not afford to keep its doors open any longer.

“It is with a heavy heart that RX Venue Management today hutting it’s doors down. The world-class entertainment and corpo announces that after 20 years of being the management company of South Africa’s largest multipurpose indoor arena, The Ticketpro Dome has now been sold by the owners, Sasol Pension Fund, to a third party which does not operate in the event space,” they wrote on Twitter.

The Dome started operating in 1998 and has housed many international acts such as rappers Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, J. Cole, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, Jay Z, Meek Mill and Post Malone and many others. Other musicians include Pink, Lauren Hill, Kat Perry and the biggest local acts including Black Coffee, Lira and the only man to have completely sold out the entire venue Cassper Nyovest.

In a video posted on social media on Monday, the “Pantsula 4 Life” hitmaker called on all South Africans to help with donations, especially baby formula and nappies essentials that are running out in the province as a result of the chaos that saw and small business getting looted, while trucks and buildings were torched to the ground.
