Things don’t seem to be going well for popular Ugandan artist, Jose Chameleone. He is truly living the statement, ‘’When it rains, it pours.’’
After dealing with a serious ban from Sabula studios for allegedly bullying, assaulting and disrespecting fellow artists, the musician now has to deal with another blow after being slapped with fresh bribery cases.
The Kampala Lord Mayor hopeful has now been summoned by Buganda Road Court anti-corruption division on charges of being in possession of unaccustomed goods.
According to the summon issued on application of prosecution, the “Baliwa” singer is set to appear before the Chief Magistrates Court of Buganda Road attached to the anti-corruption division Kampala on the 30th day of July 2020 at 9:00 am to answer charges of being in possession of un-customed goods contrary to section 200 (d) (iii) of the East African Community Customs Management Act 2004.
This is after Chameleone was found in possession of a vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 model that was evading taxes worth shs137million after failing to show off the right documentation of the ride to the customs.
Other charges that the singer will be answering to before court include failure to produce documents of his ride when he was required to do so by the customs department of the Uganda Revenue Authority among others.
