Chipangali Teacher Commits Suicide Over Debts


A 36-year-old teacher of Chipangali district has committed suicide after failing to clear off his debts.

Mabvuto Njobvu of Kasonjola Primary School allegedly hanged himself with a wire.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Luckson Sakala confirmed the incident which happened on Monday.

Mr Sakala told Breeze FM news that the body of Mr Njobvu was found in the house by a pupil he was staying.

He said Mr Njobvu left a note, stating that he decided to kill himself because he was owing several people.

Mr Sakala said Njobvu’s body has been deposited to Chipata Central Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
