Chishimba Kambwili Released on police bond

Chishimba Kambwili and Charles Kakula, two outspoken Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidates, have been released on police bond pending a court date.

The two were detained and jointly accused of unlawful assembly in connection with a protest that Mr. Kakula organized at Dr. Kambwili’s home on January 26 of this year.

It is alleged that the two, acting jointly with additional unidentified individuals, unlawfully gathered, leading other people to reasonably fear a break of the peace in the community.

The two have subsequently been released on police bond, according to deputy police spokesperson Danny Mwale of Zambia.

“The duo has been released on Police Bond pending court appearance,” Mr Mwale said.
