Common Wealth: Games Open

In Birmingham, England, the Commonwealth Games have officially begun.

At Alexander Stadium last night, PRINCE CHARLES gave the Games their official start.

The Opening Ceremony kicks off 11 days of magnificent competition featuring 4,500 of the best athletes from the Commonwealth in 19 sports and 8 parasports disciplines.

The occasion is the biggest gathering ever held in the West Midlands.

One of the 74 nations taking part in the Games is Zambia.

Rugby, swimming, badminton, and squash teams from Zambia are just a few of the sports that will be played today.

Zambia Rugby Coach ANDREW KAMINSA claims that despite playing in a difficult group, his team will put in a lot of effort to advance.

It won’t be simple to compete with teams like Wales and Fiji, according to KAMINSA.

Richard Lubanza, the lone participant from Zambia in the Para Power Weightlifting, claims he is well-prepared for the Commonwealth Games.
