Government has allocated 38,200 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to the Copperbelt Province.

This is out of the 228,000 doses of vaccines the country received last week.

Launching the vaccination exercise today in Ndola, Jonas Chanda said the allocated vaccines will be administered to priority groups.

Dr Chanda has reiterated that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe and people should turn up and get vaccinated.

He has implored the people on the Copperbelt to take advantage of the vaccine which has been rolled out to the province and get vaccinated.

Dr. Chanda said at the moment, all the 10 provinces have received the Covax facility.

And Senior Chief Chiwala of Masaiti District has urged other traditional leaders to get the vaccine.

The traditional leader has urged government to enhance sensitisation activities on the vaccine and clear the myths.

Meanwhile, Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe said the vaccine has come at the right time when economic activities have been affected in the province by the pandemic.

Mr. Nundwe commended government through the Ministry of Health for the allocated Covid-19 vaccine to the province.
