Copperbelt University closes amid rising COVID-19 cases

The Copperbelt University has ordered students at the main campus to vacate the university premises effective today due to rising cases of COVID-19.

This is according to a notice to students from the CBU office of the Registrar.
“This serves to notify all students that the Copperbelt University Senate at its sitting on 28th June 2021 resolved that all students at main campus as well as those at setellite campuses vacate the university premises effective 29th June 2021 until 1st August 2021 when they are expected to return n campus,” read the notice in part.

“During this period when you will be away from campus you will continue receiving lectures online as your lecturers will be in contact with you using various online learning modes available.”

The notice has further told students at Micheal Chilufya Sata School of Medicine who were scheduled to return to school on 7th July to remain at home.

“However, they will commence online learning effective 7th July 2021 and will report on campus on 1st August 2021,” the notice read.
