Zambia’s Covid-19 situation deteriorating as all ten provinces report cases-UN

The Country has in last 24 hours recorded 1-Thousand Five Hundred and Ninety-Eight cases of COVID-19 and 47 deaths.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary – Technical Services Kennedy Malama says the cases are out of 6- thousand 3-hundred and 69 tests conducted.

Dr. Malama says the cumulative number of COVID-19 related deaths recorded to date now stands at 1-thousand 6-hundred and 91 while 2-thousand 1-Hundred and 48 discharges were made.

The Permanent Secretary has told ZNBC News in a statement that government has continued to mobilizing extra bed space and oxygen supply.

He has since appealed to the general public to join the fight against the pandemic so the country can win the fight against the pandemic.

Dr. Malama said all provinces except for Lusaka will conduct the child health week that begins this week.

He said for Lusaka a date will be communicated in due time.
