All Covid 19 donations will go to vulnerable People

Government says all donated essentials used in the prevention of COVID 19 will be given to vulnerable people.

Minister in the Office of the Vice President OLIPA PHIRI says essential such as hand sanitizers, soap, methylated spirit and Dettol which have been donated will be given to vulnerable people in society. Ms PHIRI says this is aimed at stopping the spread of Covid 19.


The Minister was speaking when she received K200 thousand cash and 40 boxes of hand sanitizers from Savenda.

China Fujian Overseas Association of Zambia also donated hand sanitisers worth K19 thousand. And DMMU National Coordinator CHANDA KABWE said the private sector has been key in helping stop the spread of Covid 19.

In other news – Konkola Copper Mines Joins the fight against coronavirus

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) has set aside K1.2 million for stocking all consumables and supplies that will be used in the fight against coronavirus at Nchanga South Clinic which the mining company has surrendered to government as a quarantine centre for a suspected case of the deadly virus.

KCM acting General Manager Corporate Affairs Shapi Shachinda said the mining firm has decided to offer the facility to government during this period until the COVID 19 cases are over. Mr Shachinda told ZANIS that the funds released will be used to ensure that the facility has all the supplies needed. Read more
