The rapidly spreading Coronavirus pandemic is not an issue for one person. So it comes with great pleasure that we here MPs encouraging one another to help fight the pandemic.

BwanaMkubwa Member of Parliament, Jonas Chanda has urged his fellow lawmakers to help sensitise people in their Constituencies on the Coronavirus.

Dr Chanda says MPs have a role to play in ensuring that their constituents are kept abreast on the measures that have been put in place to arrest the spread of the virus.

Dr Chanda, who is a qualified medical doctor, says the fight against COVID-19 should NOT be left to government alone but require a multi-sectoral approach.

The Lawmaker said this when he undertook a mobile sensitisation programme to highlight COVID-19 preventive measures to members of the public.

He has also commended President Edgar Lungu for authorising the recruitment of 4- hundred medical doctors and 3 thousand paramedics to enhance the fight against COVID-19.

He said the move will help in the fight against the pandemic that has claimed many lives around the globe.

Dr Chanda said the provision of incentives to frontline officers in the fight against the virus will motivate the officers that have dedicated their lives serving the nation.
