In life, one ought to understand that there are people who passionately hate being indebted or grateful. If you find such a one by the roadside; down and beaten, and you pick and dust them up back to sanity, just know you have signed your death warrant, for they will hunt you down like a wild animal.
In their mind, you rendering a hand inevitably earn you a place on their hit list. To them, gratitude means defeat or humiliation and it is for that very reason that they would rather create an enemy in you or see you dead so that they don’t have to be perpetually thankful or remain owing a favour.
Their reasoning is terribly erroneous to the extent that they will assure themselves that you – their erstwhile rescuer- is a poisonous and evil person. And so they will intentionally misrepresent your kind deeds and incessantly pretend that you are a dangerous person in order to satisfy their self-worth as well as conceal their guilt for the bad things they did and continue doing to you as payment for your kindness to them. When faced with such, my advice is, please understand, it’s a psychotic issue so just forgive and forget.
