FRA closes the purchasing window for 2022 crops

According to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA), the program for the 2022 Crop Purchase has instantly come to an end.

This, according to FRA Public Relations Assistant MANYANDO LUYWA, is due to the weekly crop purchases trend expected to hit its 2022 goals by the end of August.

According to Ms. LUYWA, the exercise has gone smoothly so far, with the Agency having bought more than 35,000 metric tonnes of the targeted soy beans.

According to her, the Agency has purchased more than 133,000 metric tonnes of white maize, or 78% of the target, and more than 89.84 metric tonnes of paddy rice, or 9% of the target.

According to Ms. LUYWA, this was as of August 25, 2022.

In order to speed up purchases and prevent sending farmers back, she said in a statement  that the organization will register farmers who have already delivered their product at designated satellite depots.

The registration of these farmers and the counting of their bags, according to Ms. LUYWA, will be finished by Friday, September 2, 2022, and all formalities will be completed on Monday, September 9, 2022.
