Frontline workers get the covid-19 jab

Must read

Several frontline workers turned up to receive the covid-19 vaccine at Kitwe Teaching Hospital in Kitwe on the Copperbelt.

And Health Minister JONAS CHANDA says the number of health personnel getting vaccinated has risen to 31 percent in less than a week.

Dr. CHANDA says government is impressed with the number of frontline workers and leaders getting the vaccine.

Speaking at the launch of the vaccination exercise in Kitwe today, Dr CHANDA said since the vaccination started, no severe side effects have been recorded.

The Minister said so far, most people that have received the vaccine have only presented normal side effects of any vaccine.

Dr CHANDA has also dispelled assertions that once one takes the vaccine, they do not have to drink alcohol for 45 days.

He said such assertions being peddled on various social media platforms are meant to discourage people who drink alcohol NOT to be vaccinated.

And Nkana Member of Parliament ALEXANDER CHITEME who was the first to be vaccinated has urged people in the constituency to get vaccinated.
