Government will give over 7 point 6 million kwacha to the beneficiaries of the COVID-19 Emergency Cash Transfer in Kalulushi on the Copperbelt.
Copperbelt Province Social Welfare Officer, Chris Hilweele says Over 14-thousand beneficiaries will receive their money soon.
Mr. Hilweele says the funds will help struggling households affected by COVID-19 in Kalulushi.
Mr. Hilweele was speaking during a meeting called to randomly check on beneficiaries in Kalulushi.
And the providers of the funds, World Food Programme Senior Programmes Officer, Allan Mulando said government is targeting to reach 16-thousand people, affected by COVID-19.
Mr. Mulando explained that the programme is a critical intervention to cushion the impact of COVID-19 on various social sectors and communities.
Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Cecilia Miti said the funds are timely.
