Some tailors who supplied facemasks to government in May have complained of government’s failure to pay them.
The tailors have told Diamond News that government had promised to pay within ten days after the delivery, but now it is over three months without any payment having been made.
Meanwhile, the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit-DMMU-says it procured 4. 2 million facemasks to be distributed to pupils in exam classes at a total cost of K 42 million.
DMMU Senior Communications Officer, Raphael Chama says government will settle the arrears once funds are released by the Ministry of finance.
