Government has commissioned two modern market shelters in Chingola district on the Copperbelt at constructed at a 350 thousand Kwacha. And Copperbelt Permanent Secretary BRIGHT NUNDWE says government is committed to spur development in all sectors of the economy which includes improving the status of markets.

Mr NUNDWE also said government has put in place strategies to empower women, especially those who are vulnerable and in the informal sector. And Chingola District Commissioner AGNESS MTONGA said the market shelter has come as a relief to traders who have been trading in the open for years.
