Plans to set up an oxygen plant on the Copperbelt, at a cost of One Million United States dollars, have advanced.
Health Minister, Jonas Chanda says the plant is expected to support the oxygen needs of hospitals, due to increased demand in the second wave of COVID-19.
Dr Chanda disclosed this today, in a statement on the latest cases of COVID-19 in the country.
Meanwhile, Dr Chanda says the country has recorded 6-hundred and 91 new cases of COVID-19, while related deaths are 14, in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures , takes to 73-thousand 8-hundred and 94, the cumulative number of cases, while cumulative deaths are at 1-thousand and 16.
Dr Chanda has further said there are currently 5-thousand 9-hundred and 35 active cases of COVID-19, with 3-hundred and 17 under admission, 2-hundred and 22 are on oxygen.
