Several houses and other infrastructure have been destroyed by strong winds and heavy rains in various parts of the country following the onset of the rain season.
In the latest incident, several houses have had their roofs blown off due to a hailstorm in Kafue’s Shantumbu area.
Affected families have been forced to vacate their homes following the damage.
The victims have since appealed to the government through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- for help.
And CHISANKANE Ward Councillor KEBBY SIKANGILA assured the affected residents that his office will engage the DMMU over the matter.
Mr SIKANGILA also implored other well wishers to help the victims.
