Heavy Downpour Blows Off Roofs in Kalulushi

Over 40 houses and two schools have had their roofs blown off while others have collapsed in Chambishi Township in Kalulushi District following a heavy downpour experienced in the area.

And the victims have appealed to the government to find a way of supporting all the affected families saying that most of them have lost even their foodstuffs.

Kalulushi District Commissioner Stephen Kainga who visited the site has described the situation as a serious disaster as most families have been left homeless.

Speaking when he met some of the affected families, Kainga said his office has engaged Disaster Management and Mitigation to find immediate solutions to the calamity.
He said that it is sad people have been left homeless following a hailstorm in the area but assured that his office will do its best to lessen the burden of the affected families.
