K3 Millions for Interns in Luapula province.

The government of Zambia has released three million Kwacha to pay youths engaged as interns in Luapula province. Luapula Province Youth Coordinator, Tobias Tembo has confirmed the release of the money for the months of June, July and August.

He says the money will be paid to 595 interns who are deployed in all the districts and engaged under the Youth Skills apprenticeship programme, through the government’s youth empowerment initiative.

He has explained that the interns and super interns who were owed money in arrears have since started accessing the funds.

A Lusaka landlord has appeared in the Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty of burning her tenant with hot porridge. Rebecca Mwansa, 65, a teacher of John Laing compound, is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Allegations are that Mwansa on June 29, 2021, assaulted her tenant Bwalya Malekani and occasioned him actual bodily harm but denied the charge.
