Mellow sounding music songbird Kantu has announced that she is quitting music after a professional career of about seven years.
But the recently married 30-year-old Kantu says her departure from music will not be until she releases her last album to everyone who supported her music.
“I want take this time to thank everyone that has supported my music career,” Kantu wrote.Kantu quits music
“My musical journey has been nothing but amazing because you all cheered me on even when times were hard. You may not know this but Music healed my soul. To help mend broken hearts and strengthen people through my music has been a great blessing, one I will always treasure. Unfortunately, everything must come to an end. I’ve decided to give way to other things in my life and so I have to say goodbye,” Kantu wrote further.
“I will however put out ONE BEAUTIFUL ALBUM as a gift to those who have loved and supported my music. It will be a little something for you to remember me by. I will forever cherish y’all,” she concluded.
It is not clear what direction Kantu is taking
but she is a lecturer of Geography studies at the University of Zambia and those close to her suggest she wants to venture into activism.
The award-winning Kantu recently married businessman Michael Phiri and In seperate interviews, the two revealed their love for each other and how they looked forward to having many beautiful children!Kantu quits music
Kantu Habanji Siachingili, known musically as Kantu, which is also written as Kan 2, is a singer and songwriter, and an ambassador to the Triple V Campaign.
She first came onto the Zambian music scene when she featured on rapper Slapdee’s track “Remember”.
