Kazungula Bridge commissioned


African Union Chairperson Felix Tshisekedi has officially commissioned the Kazungula Bridge which is a joint project between Zambia and Botswana.

DRC President Tshisekedi was accompanied by President Edgar Lungu, President Mogkweetsi Masisi of Botswana, President Felipe Nyusi of Mozambique and President Emerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe.

The project constitutes of a one stop border facility, a road and rail that runs across the Zambezi river connecting Zambia and Botswana.

President MASISI started by officially opening the One Stop Boarder Post on the Botswanan side before President Lungu opened the One Stop Boarder Post on the Zambian side.

After the function in Botswana, President Tshisekedi then proceeded to the middle of the Kazungula Bridge where he cut the ribbon signifying the official opening of the bridge to the public.

And when opening the One Stop Boarder facility on the Zambian Side President Lungu was joined by his counterparts from the DRC, Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

By Broadcast time the official program was been held on the Zambian side were speeches are expected to be delivered.

The official program is being attended by leaders from the SADC region and beyond.
