President EDGAR LUNGU who was accompanied by First Lady, ESTHER led the Kaunda family and other mourners at the burial of Dr. KAUNDA.
And as the casket was being lowered, Dr KAUNDA received a 21-gun salute, a fly past and a presidential salute.
President LUNGU led various dignitaries to lay wreaths among them Mozambique’s former President, JOAQUIM CHISSANO, political party leaders and the church mother bodies.
President LUNGU also presented the national flag to Dr. KAUNDA’s son, PANJI.
And speaking in a vote of thanks, family Representative SIYANGA SHIMABALE thanked Government, Zambian citizens and other countries for the support rendered to the family during their bereavement.
Mr. SHIMABALE said Dr. KAUNDA’s legacy of unity, peace and love should continue to be upheld.
