It has emerged that Stephen Paddock, the man who on Sunday night killed 58 people and injured more than 500 in Las Vegas, had several cameras set up in – and surrounding – his hotel room.
Police found two cameras in the hallway and one in the peephole, which allowed him to see when “law enforcement or security” were coming.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, speaking to reporters said: “It was pre-planned extensively and I’m pretty sure he evaluated everything he did in his actions.”
Paddock’s reason for the mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Hotel is still unknown.
Inside his hotel room, police found 23 guns, while more firearms and explosives were found at his home.
He is said to have had no criminal record.
The former accountant is believed to have killed himself before the police entered his hotel room.
