Lightning Strike Kills 3 Children In Mbala

Three children of the same family have died after lightning struck the house they were sleeping in, in Chinenke village of Mbala District – Northern Province.

Aunty to the deceased DOROTHY NAINGWA confirmed the incidence to NAIS News in a telephone interview today.

Ms NAINGWA explained that the trio met their fate when heavy rains started around 03:00 hrs and later heard a thunder and saw the infernal which left damage to property not yet accounted for.

She said the three children were rushed to Mbala General Hospital but died before arriving at the facility.

Ms NAINGWA further narrated that the deceased were two boys and a girl aged 4, 10 and 14 years.

And Mwambezi Ward Councillor, AMOS SIMFUKWE expressed sadness at the calamity that has befallen the family in his area.

He said government is concerned with the tragedy that has claimed young and potential lives that could have been great future community.
