NELLY MUTTI, the Speaker of the National Assembly, has asked JACK MWIIMBU, the Minister of Home Affairs, to provide a ministerial statement about the reported violence during the recently concluded Luangwa Chairperson by-election.
According to Ms. MUTTI, the minister must advise the country on the alleged violence committed by political party officials.
Violence, according to her, is a touchy topic because it can sometimes result in fatalities.
Following a matter of urgent public urgency brought up by Chama South Member of Parliament DAVISON MUNG’ANDU, Ms. MUTTI issued the directive.
A woman councillor was allegedly assaulted by political party cadres in Luangwa, according to Mr. MUNG’ANDU.
