A Lusaka woman has been burnt with hot water, on suspicion of being in a love affair with a married man.
Febby Chali, aged 26, of Chalala area, who has also allegedly been assaulted, has suffered burns on the body and face.
Police Spokesperson, Esther Katongo has confirmed the incident, which happened today, identifying the suspect, as Esnart Mulishi, aged 37, also of Chalala area.
Ms. Katongo explained that the incident happened when Chali went to her lover’s house to allegedly request for child maintenance, but instead only found Mulishi, who is the wife of her lover.
She said a fight ensued between the two, and Mulishi poured hot water on Chali, before hitting her on the head with a wooden chair.
Ms. Katongo said Chali is receiving treatment for the burns while Mulishi is in police custody.
