Police in Lusaka are looking for a man of Matero compound who poured hot water on his wife who later died. Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the suspect, Charles Lungu, poured hot water on his wife who sustained severe burns.
She said the victim was issued with a medical report and admitted to Matero Level one hospital before she died on Wednesday morning. “Police are looking for a male adult identified as Charles Lungu who is alleged to have poured boiling water on his wife who later died after sustaining severe burns. On 14th April, 2021, a report of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (OABH) was reported at Muchinga Police Post by Female adult Mandadu Daka aged 57 years of Mapulanga area in Balaston that she was assaulted by the husband by way of pouring boiling water on her body and she sustained severe burns on her body,” said Katongo.
“The victim was issued with a medical report and referred to Matero level one Hospital where she got admitted on the same day and the suspect ran away.”
She said the victim died today while in admission.
“However, the victim died today 21st April, 2021 at around 07 00 hours at Matero level one Hospital whilst in admission. The suspect is still on the run, docket of murder has been opened and a man hunt has been launched,” she said.
