Some irate voters in Solwezi District in North-Western Province have damaged a Toyota Corolla registration number ACT 3276 following a false alarm that the vehicle was carrying pre-marked ballot papers.
The vehicle’s windscreen has been shattered and tires punched. North Western Province Police Commissioner, Joel Njase says the owner of the vehicle went to vote when it was suspected that he was carrying pre-marked ballot papers.
He says the man is a former UPND member who defected to PF. Mr. Njase has since warned people against engaging in violence saying the law will visit them.
The confusion happened at Kyawama polling Station.
