Masaiti District on the Copperbelt Province has received its full allocation of Compound D fertilizer under the Farmer Input Support Programme -FISP- for the 2021-2022 farming season.
Masaiti District Commissioner Patrick Zulu says the entire 2thousand 8 hundred and 95 metric tons of Compound D fertilizer is already in the district, and that only a few tonnage of Urea is remaining for the district to record 1-hundred percent fertilizer delivery.
Speaking when Nyimba Investments Head of Sales and Marketing Willings Mulendema visited his office in Masaiti, Mr. Zulu said the early supply of fertilizer shows that President Edgar Lungu means well for farmers and needs to be commended.
He has urged farmers to take good care of the fertilizer as they wait for the rains.
And the Nyimba Investments Head of Sales and Marketing said the company is only remaining with 7-hundred metric tons of Urea which will be delivered in a few days’ time to complete the entire allocation.
Mr. Mulendema said the company is ready for FISP this year and is only waiting for the launch of the inputs distribution exercise.
