Mayor of Lusaka City Miles Sampa has suspended his honeymoon and leave to help with enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines following a surge in the cases.
Given the surge in Covid19 related deaths in the City of Lusaka, I have suspended my honeymoon & leave for a week and back to work to help on what other authorities are already doing to combat the attack.
This morning I therefore teamed up with the Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo who incidentally suspended his leave few days ago for the fight against Covid 19.
We visited a call centre for MTN that we found had contracted Covid 19 guidelines with 61 call assistants in one rather congested looking room when guidelines stipulates 50 as maximum gathering. We asked the manager a Mr Raju to avail us a written explanation by 6pm today.
We then inspected Levy Mall and Intercity Bus terminus urging shoppers and passengers to make up and social distance.
We will be back for night inspection for compliance against Corona virus.
