Mine Unions plan demonstrations against Vedanta

Mine Unions on the Copperbelt are planning a peaceful demonstration against Vedanta to push for their smooth exit.

Mine Workers Union of Zambia -MUZ President Joseph Chewe says Vedanta the owners of Konkola Copper Mine must not be allowed to get back at KCM.

Mr. Chewe told ZNBC News that the workers at KCM and the community of Chingola will tomorrow demonstrate against Vedanta for the suffering it made them go through.

And National Union of Miners and Allied Workers – President James Chansa said the happenings at the mine are disturbing.

Mr. Chansa said his union believes that Zambia has the best legal brains and that he is hopeful the matter will be concluded soon.
