Home Affairs minister Mr Stephen Kampyongo on Saturday commissioned 51 modern houses for Zambia Police officers in Mufulira and Masaiti. “Government is fully aware of the difficult conditions under which our officers have been operating and we are doing everything possible to address these challenges,” Mr Kampyongo said.Mufulira and Masaiti Police

28 houses were commissioned and handed over to police at Sikalangwe Police camp in Mufulira while 23 were handed over at Masaiti Police Camp in Masaiti district.
Mr Kampyongo said it is Government’s hope that the construction of the modern new houses would not only motivate police officers but also enhance service delivery.

And Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has cautioned the officers who will occupy the houses at the two camps against vandalizing the property as they come at such great cost to government.

And Copperbelt Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe has expressed gratitude to President Edgar Lungu for prioritizing the construction of modern houses for law enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, Masaiti Constituency Member of Parliament Michael Katambo said the construction of the 23 houses for the police in Masaiti has come at a time when police officers needed them most.
