A 21-year-old teacher Naomi Chizhyuka, who says her aspiration is to make a positive impact in society, last weekend won the first ever Miss Face of Livingstone 2018 crown during the pageant held at Club Connect. For her feet, Naomi won K3,000 cash, an all-expense-paid-for boat cruise, dinner and a game drive.
25-year-old Karen Chilambe a student at a local college, won the Miss Personality crown while 24-year-old Stephanie Mulamata, and Agness Nyangu, 22, who are both students, were the First and Second Princesses, respectively.
Naomi, who outshined seven other contestants to get the crown, kept her feet firmly on the ground despite her achievement. She said: “My biggest gratitude goes to the almighty Father above for all His mercies and grace upon my life,” she said. “Secondly, I would like to thank the organisers of the pageant.”
But not everything was restricted to the catwalk at the Miss Face of Livingstone, the self-proclaimed five-star General Ozzy was on hand to add a different complexion to the event. Ozzy’s sibling, Roberto, was also in the tourist capital the following day for a performance at Taonga Safaris.
Ozzy performed his old hits such as Chi Mutengo Cha Mango, Kobili, Ona Mami, Chino Chalo and Pamodzi. There was also a chilling moment when Ozzy performed Take My Heart on which he collaborated with Ugandan duo Weasel and Radio, who died early this year. General Ozzy also performed two songs from his recent Voice of Zambia album, Pick up the Phone and Pull Up.
