Parliament has ratified the Presidential appointment of 12 High Court Judges.
After a prolonged debate on the nominees, the House unanimously ratified the appointments.
Among those who were nominated are Charles Kafunda, Joshua Banda, Dorcas Munkombwe-Malama, Twaambo Shalwindi Musonda, Daniel Musonda, and Lameck Mwale.
Chiengi Member of Parliament Given Katuta, who presented the report said the nominees met the standards and qualifications.
Ms. Katuta said the committee was satisfied and recommended that they be ratified.
And Deputy Chief Whip Tutwa Ngulube supported the ratification of the nominees.
Mr. Ngulube said the appointment of Judges is a demonstration by President Edgar Lungu to provide a fair and reliable justice system in the country.
