Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala out of Guinea clash

Must read

The Football Association of Zambia has announced that Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka will miss Sunday’s Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In a statement, FAZ says Daka and Sakala will only play tomorrow’s away match in Malabo but could not travel for the home tie as they are not fully vaccinated.

“FIFA has secured a conditional waiver with the English FA for players traveling to red-listed countries that they will be exempted from the 10-day mandatory quarantine on condition that they are fully vaccinated. Regrettably, our two players (Daka and Sakala) are not fully vaccinated and cannot travel to Zambia for Sunday’s match.” FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala said.

The Sweden-based duo of Emmanuel Banda and Edward Chilufya will not play the away match due to a visa hitch.

Zambia plays Equatorial Guinea on Thursday in Malabo before hosting the Central Africans in Lusaka on Sunday in back-to-back matches.
