London “Elephant” enters News Diggers and takes more than K4,000

A SECURITY guard who broke into the Muvi Television studios and stole electronic devices was sentenced to six years in prison, and now another guard has admitted to entering into News Diggers, another mwdia house, and stealing more than K4,000.

London Njobvu, whose last name means “elephant,” responded to Lusaka Magistrate Kelvin Soma’s question by saying that he needed the money to pay rent.

In this case, 43-year-old Mtendere Township resident Njobvu is accused of breaking into a building and committing a felony.

Njobvu came into News Diggers’ offices on January 7 of this year with the intention of stealing, and he took K4, 750 worth of the company’s goods.

The defendant acknowledged the charge when he appeared before magistrate Soma today.

Njobvu admitted, “Yes, I broke into News Digger’s headquarters.

The case was postponed to the next week for the reading of the facts and sentencing after the court accepted a guilty plea.

A security guard was given a six-year sentence with hard labor last week for stealing electronics worth K100,000 from MUVI Television.
