Former Livestock and Fisheries Minister Nkandu Luo has thanked President Edgar Lungu for appointing her as his running mate.
Professor Luo says she is going to serve the President and the PF with honor and humility.
She says the PF needs the efforts of every member to succeed.
Professor Luo told ZNBC News that President Lungu has shown commitment to having more women participate in national affairs.
She said a number of countries have started emulating Zambia in promoting women in public affairs.
Professor Luo said it is uncommon for a President in Africa to have a woman running mate.
