Some homes in Libuyu Compound of Livingstone have had their rooftops blown off in a hailstorm while some other properties have been submerged after heavy rainwater swept through the city in Southern Province.
Racheal Mulubale, one of the affected residents, says several items in her house have been drenched in water and this has prompted her to switch off the electricity.
Ms. Mulubale has blamed the poor drainage system in Libuyu for the flooding.
She says leaders in the past have failed to work on the drainages in Libuyu.
She has called on Ward Development Committees to prioritize drainage systems as they submit plans to the Local Authority.
