NGOCC Mourns Reverend Pukuta Mwanza

The Non-Governmental Gender Organization Coordinating Council has described Former Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza as a patriot, who supported the vulnerable in society on matters of Social Justice.

NGOCC Board Chairperson Mary Mulenga says the death of Reverend Mwanza has been met with a sense of deep sorrow.

In a statement, Ms Mulenga said Reverend Mwanza was never shy to speak out on national issues that affected the wellbeing of the vulnerable in society.

She has noted that the Reverend Mwanza exhibited a unique level of courage, wisdom and counsel which will be missed by many.

Ms Mulenga said NGOCC worked closely with Reverend Mwanza as part of the OASIS forum and in much other civil society and church platforms were his personal commitment and contributions were unwavering.

Reverend Mwanza died at a Private Hospital in Lusaka.

In Other News – PF calls for Electoral Commission to postpone polls

The ruling Patriotic Front -PF- has called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to postpone all by-elections that are scheduled to take place in the near future until the country is declared Covid-19 free.


PF Secretary General Davis Mwila said this in a statement to ZNBC News, in which he has congratulated Thabo Kayando for emerging victorious in the Nangula ward by-election in Limulunga district of Western Province. read more
