Rufunsa District has received over 4 thousand by 12 point 5 bags of relief food.
The mealie-meal is meant for households which were affected by the partial drought experienced in the last farming season.
Receiving the consignment at Rufunsa combined school, District Commissioner, Judith Chama thanked government for its continued support to the affected areas.
Mrs. Chama said the consignment will be given to the most affected areas such as Chomba, Chipeketi, Shimunguwo and Shikabeta where there is human-animal conflict.
She further said some bags will be given to the most vulnerable such as the aged, chronically ill, women and child headed households who will be identified through the Department of Community Development.
Mrs. Chama also thanked Government for the timely distribution of farming inputs for the 2020/2021 farming season, as this will enable most households in the area to have a bumper harvest.
