Schools have partially re-opened for the second term after being closed for the past two months due to escalating cases of the Covid-19 pandemic.

School pupils were this morning spotted reporting for class.

And a check by ZNBC News in various schools in Lusaka found pupils in classes learning.

The pupil turnout has been impressive for some schools while low in others.

And BERNARD DAKA, a Grade 12 pupil at Lusaka Boys Secondary School says the re-opening of schools will help him and his colleagues to catch up on lost time.

And Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary JOBBICKS KALUMBA has implored parents to allow pupils to report for school.

Dr. KALUMBA says the pupils have lost much during the time schools closed due to the pandemic.

He has reiterated that the re-opening of schools is gradual and that the turn out will improve as pupils continue to report for classes daily.

Dr. KALUMBA has since encouraged the pupils to take school seriously as they have already lost time when schools were closed.
