The sim registration update initiative by the mobile operators and the Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority- ZICTA has been well received by certain Lusaka-area mobile consumers.
According to certain mobile phone users who spoke with ZNBC, the practice will help reduce cybercrimes, which are allegedly on the rise.
Some users who did not complete their sim registration are currently receiving invites from ZICTA to update their sim details.
Subscribers must upload pictures of their faces in order to receive the update.
The effort, according to ZICTA public relations manager HANFORD CHAABA, aims to improve security features and reduce cybercrimes.
