Soccer Academy Supported by YANGO Zambia

Today, Yango Zambia launched its CSR initiative by supporting the Shamuel Soccer Academy of Bonaventure Makeni. The sponsorship includes the creation and distribution of soccer uniforms and other equipment costing thousands of dollars to support the running of the academy.

To help poor Zambian children develop their full athletic potential, Shamuel Soccer Academy provides training facilities. This enables them to advance and qualify to international player standards in both regional and international soccer stages. The club has sent players on tryouts to Turkey, Russia, Israel, Switzerland, and Belarus since its beginnings.

Mr. Roman Karlash, Yango’s chief executive officer, Ms. Kabanda Chewe, other senior officials, as well as well-known locals including Chef 187, Yo Maps, Bombshell, Mwaka Mugala, and Jay Rox, led the trip on behalf of Yango.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Kabanda Chewe, Country Manager for Yango Zambia, emphasized Yango’s commitment to supporting youth soccer and mentioned that similar programs had already been carried out in other African nations.

“It is our intention to help enhance the development of soccer in Africa, of which Zambia is a big part of,” she said.

Shamuel proprietor and trainer Mr. Evans Kangwa- an international player- expressed gratitude towards the gesture from Yango.

“We are humbled by the support that Yango has given to the academy as this will greatly encourage more Zambian youths to sign up at the academy. At Shamuel Soccer Academy we believe our efforts will positively impact the development of the Zambian youth by providing football and life enriching opportunities to young potential players of all ages. Our vision to produce soccer academy graduates who have world class technical abilities on the pitch, and immaculate respectable behaviour off the pitch, will only be necessitated through collaborative efforts such as that which Yango is offering.”

On March 29, 2022, Zambia launched Yango, a worldwide informative service for booking rides online. It now runs successfully in Lusaka, Ndola, and Kitwe, assisting local partners in setting up a digital network that offers reasonable transportation to thousands of passengers every day. Since 2011, Yango has run mobility and delivery companies in 20 nations in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
