Low Teacher Enrollment Would Have Negative Effects, Says ZCTU

Dr. KASHUMBA KABOMBO, Southern Province Regional Coordinator for the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions, claims that if the decline in teacher enrollment is not addressed, it will have a negative impact.

Since teachers make up every sphere of society, according to Dr. KASHUMBA, the decline will have a significant negative impact on the country’s social and economic prosperity.

Additionally, he has exhorted educators to use creativity and to go outside of government employment.

The government has promised to send out roughly 30,000 instructors annually, and Dr. KASHUMBA has commended this promise and challenged the private sector to do the same by hiring teachers.
